Privacy and Regulation of the Internet

Privacy and Regulation of the InternetPrivacy and regulation of the internet is a topic that many people are concerned about. But we must also understand that we are not going to be able to go back and look at these issues from a different perspective. What has been happening on the Internet is the law of the jungle in which everyone is trying to survive. Every individual on the net is trying to get ahead of the others.Regulation is required because everyone needs to protect his identity. But privacy and regulation of the internet is so important that we cannot afford to take it for granted. We need to use the net to enhance our knowledge base about this area so that we can act against those who would do us harm. Many people are happy to receive e-mails, articles, and publications from individuals with whom they may share a common interest. Yet, we can't have free favors. To be free to send an e-mail to someone means that you must be able to hide your IP address. That means that you d on't want others to be able to see that you are talking to the person in question. So, we can't afford to let a free lunch become a free ride if privacy and regulation of the internet are so important. For that reason, most people realize that we need to obtain some form of identity theft protection. Some criminals have access to public records of individuals and they use them to try to steal identities. They follow these folks online, find out their home addresses, then contact the people there and tell them that they are trying to steal their identity. Often, they even try to convince them to sign over their homes or other property to them, so that they can continue to operate with impunity. While the Internet might have provided anonymity for many individuals who had no choice but to use it, we have to admit that its potential for good has also been exploited. Criminal activities can occur right here on the Net. It is time that we took privacy and regulation of the internet into con sideration. It isn't just about protecting ourselves from these predators, but about protecting our cyber friends. There is too much that we share on the Internet. It is about more than just shopping. It is about science, education, business, romance, entertainment, and much more. There is too much at stake if we allow privacy and regulation of the internet to slip under our noses. The Internet is a powerful medium that can provide answers to many of life's questions. We must realize that as long as this medium exists, there will be those who use it to harm others. We should therefore secure the privacy and regulation of the Internet. We owe it to ourselves, to our children, and to all of mankind.
